Abstract

U ovom radu obrađena je morfologija odabranih rodova iz porodice Cyperaceae: Carex,
Cyperus, Rhynchospora, Eleocharis, Uncinia, Cladium, Kobresia, Scirpus i Schoenus.
Navedene su njihove opće karakteristike i razlike u građi cvijeta. Prilikom određivanja vrsta
iz Cyperaceae, bitna je detaljna analiza cvatova i cvjetova, jer su vrste većinom habitusom
jako slične. Neki rodovi unutar porodice Cyperaceae razvili su poseban ovoj oko plodnice,
koja se naziva utrikulus ili vrećica i značajna je samo za ovu porodicu. Potrebna su dodatna,
kako bi se razjasnile postojeće nedoumice u vezi građe i porijekla utrikulusa, kao i njegove
uloge.
Porodica Cyperaceae pripada ugroženim porodicama jer primarno nastanjuje močvarna i
vlažna staništa, koja su uslijed ljudskog djelovanja podvrgnuta procesu degradacije. Stoga je
važna zaštita ovog tipa staništa, kako bi se očuvala raznolikost ove porodice.

Abstract (english)

In this paper the morphology of following genera belonging to the familiy Cyperaceae was
described: Carex, Cyperus, Rhynchospora, Eleocharis, Uncinia, Cladium, Kobresia, Scirpus
and Schoenus. General characteristics and differences in the structure of the flower are also
mentioned. For identifying of species Belonging to the Cyperaceae family, a detailed analysis
of the flower is essential, because all all types of habitus are very similar, and the main
differences between genera and species are confined to the structure of inflorescences and
flowers. Some genera within the Cyperaceae family have developed a special structure, called
utricle, whichwich can be found only in this familiy. Some additional researches are needed in
order to clarify existing concerns regarding the structure and origin of the utricle, as well as its
role.
The Cyperaceae family belongs to endangered families because it primarily inhabits
swamps and humid habitats that are in process of degradation because of human activity.
Therefore, it is important to protect this type of habitat in order to preserve the diversity of
this family.
