Računalni šah je zbog svoje veze s inteligencijom 50-ih godina prošlog stoljeća postao glavnim predmetom istraživanja pionira na polju umjetne inteligencije. U ovom radu istražuje se način funkcioniranja programa za igranje šaha i detaljno se objašnjavaju elementi svakog modernog šahovskog programa. Due to its correlation with intelligence, computer chess has become the main subject of pioneer research in the field of artificial intelligence in the 1950s.
