Abstract

Biciklizam je danas prihvaćen kao vrlo atraktivna rekreativna i turistička aktivnost, a najvažniji je zadatak biciklista prije izlaska na cestu planiranje rute kojom će se kretati. S obzirom na to da izbor optimalne rute zahtijeva usklađivanje velikog broja različitih kriterija, ovaj zadatak u nepoznatom prostoru postaje vrlo zahtjevan, pri čemu veliku važnost imaju biciklističke karte. Međutim, zbog ograničenja analognih medija, one ne mogu ispuniti zahtjeve biciklista za sve većom količinom informacija, stoga je osnovni cilj ovog rada razvoj atlasnog informacijskog sustava koji će pružiti biciklistima snažnu podršku u procesu planiranja rekreativnih i turističkih ruta. AIS je nazvan BikeTour Router te je implementiran kroz web tehnologiju, a za prostor istraživanja odabran je otok Krk koji se ističe po snažnom potencijalu za razvoj biciklističkog turizma. Usmjeren je na širok spektar domaćih i inozemnih korisnika, kojima nudi jednostavno i intuitivno korisničko sučelje, sveobuhvatan skup tehničkih karakteristika ruta i kriterija za njihovo pretraživanje, jedinstven način vizualizacije nagiba duž rute te pristup bazi podataka s velikim brojem objekata koji utječu na atraktivnost rute te kartografsku vizualizaciju prilagođenu prikazu na zaslonu računala.

Abstract (english)

Cycling is nowadays widely seen as very attractive recreational and touristic activity. Furthermore, from the individual point of view, the most important task for the single cycler before stepping at the road itself is to plan the route of envisaged voyage. Taking into consideration that choosing optimal route demands alignment of a large number of different criteria, this task becomes very demanding. This is particularly the case while encountering unknown area, with different cycling maps playing fundamental role. However, taking into consideration the limitations of analogue media, cycling maps cannot meet pressing demands of cyclists for the increased amount of information. Therefore, the major objective of this work is to develop an atlas information system (AIS) that shall provide cyclists a strong support in the process of planning recreational and touristic routes. The AIS is called “BikeTour Router” and it has been implemented through the web technology with the focal point being an island Krk, which stands out given its strong potential for the development of cycling tourism. System is being targeted at the wide spectrum of domestic and international users to whom it offers simple and intuitive user interface and unique way of visualizing slopes along the routes. Additionally, “BikeTour Router” offers encompassing set of technical characteristics of routes and search criteria and access to database with the large number of objects that impact the route's attractiveness and map visualization, tailored to your computer interface.
