Abstract

Gnijezda su strukture izgrađene ili promijenjene u svrhu pružanja sigurnosti jajima i mladuncima od opasnosti koje prijete iz vanjskog svijeta. Nalazimo ih kod brojnih svojti te se uvelike razlikuju kako između taksona tako i unutar samog taksona. Gradnja gnijezda sveprisutna je te vrlo karakteristična kod ptica. Gnijezda možemo proučavati po veličini, obliku, položaju, materijalima korištenim u izradi i načinu gradnje. U ovom radu je napravljen pregled raznolikosti gnijezda ptica s primjerima iz hrvatske faune.

Abstract (english)

Nests are structures bult or modified for the purpose of providing security to eggs and chicks from the dangers of the outside world. They can be found in many taxa and they differ greatly between different taxa as much as within one. Nest building is ubiquitous and very characteristic for birds. Nests can be studied by size, shape, site, construction materials and building techniques. In this paper we made overview of the diversity of birds' nests with examples from Croatian fauna.
