Abstract

Opisujemo kako matematički modelirati udar asteroida u vodenu površinu te razriješiti diskontinuitete koji pritom nastaju. Rezultate važne za klimatske promjene uzrokovane ovim događajem dobivamo korištenjem numeričkih paketa kodova fizike šokova koji rješavaju jednadžbe očuvanja mase, količine gibanja i energije uz materijalne modele na proizvoljnoj domeni. U slučaju da je tsunami val generiran udarom val plitke vode, dano je numeri čko pojednostavljenje izvođenja simulacije širenja vala numeričkim rješavanjem jednadžbi plitke vode.

Abstract (english)

We describe how to mathematically model an asteroid impact in water surface and how to manage the discontinuities that arise. Results important for climate changes caused by this event are obtained using shock physics code packages that solve conservation equations for mass, momentum and energy along with material models on an arbitrary domain. In a special case when tsunami wave generated by the impact is a shallow water wave, this work gives numerical simplification for simulating wave propagation by numerically solving shallow water equations.
