Abstract

Osobitost geoturizma leži u naglasku na edukaciji i razumijevanju geoloških i geomorfoloških oblika i procesa, stoga je interpretacija ključni aspekt geoturizma. Koriste se razne tehnike interpretacije, ali najpopularnije sredstvo su interpretacijske ploče – samostalne
ili na poučnoj stazi. Geomorfološki lokalitet Medjame nalazi se u Samoborskom gorju, u selu Dubrava Samoborska, 3 km SZ od Samobora. Medjame je mali krško plato ispresijecan pukotinama duž kojih je oblikovan niz speleoloških pojava (špilja i jama) vrlo sličnog postanka i morfologije. Ovaj lokalitet je jedinstvena geomorfološka pojava u panonskoperipanonskoj Hrvatskoj i šire, te zato predstavlja idealnu učionicu o krškom reljefu. Poučna staza „Medjame“ upoznaje posjetitelja s geološkim, geomorfološkim i biološkim obilježjima lokaliteta, ali i ekologijom, budući da je lokalitet do 2006. godine bio onečišćen. Sama poučna staza sadrži klasične interpretacijske ploče na hrvatskom jeziku, te je osmišljena i promotivna brošura. Cilj rada je kroz interpretaciju potaknuti razumijevanje za potrebu zaštite lokaliteta Medjame kao geomorfološkog spomenika prirode.

Abstract (english)

The specificity of geotourism lies in the emphasis on education and understanding of geological and geomorphological forms and processes, so interpretation is a key aspect of geotourism. Various interpretation techniques are used, but the most popular are interpretation boards - independent or on an educational trail. The geomorphological site of Medjame is located in Samoborsko gorje, in the village of Dubrava Samoborska, 3 km NW of Samobor. Medjame is a small karst plateau intersected by fissures along which a number of speleological features (caves and pits) of very similar origin and morphology have been
formed. This site is a unique geomorphological phenomenon in Pannonian-Peripannonian Croatia and broader, and therefore represents an ideal classroom on karst relief. The educational trail "Medjame" introduces visitors to the geological, geomorphological and biological characteristics of the site, but also ecology, since the site was polluted until 2006. The educational trail itself contains classic interpretation boards in the Croatian language, and a promotional brochure has been designed. The aim of this paper is to encourage understanding through interpretation for the need to protect the Medjama site as a geomorphological natural monument.
