Abstract

Na lokalitetu Baška plaža na otoku Krku, prikupljeno je i metodom šlemanja obrađeno pet uzoraka lapora s ciljem analize mikrofosilnog sadržaja. Uzorci su makroskopski opisani (boja, tvrdoća) te je mikrofosilni materijal pažljivo pregledan po svim frakcijama. Od mikrofosila dominiraju foraminifere, a također su nađeni i oklopi ostrakoda, bodlje ježinaca, mahovnjak i brojna zrnca minerala. Uzorak BB 11/21 s najbogatijim i najbolje očuvanim mikrofosilima je standardiziran na 280 jedinki foraminifera. U njemu dominiraju male bentičke foraminifere s 87% zastupljenosti unutar foraminiferske zajednice. Odnos plankton / bentos, s 13 % planktonskih foraminifera unutar zajednice ukazuje na plitkovodni marinski okoliš područja unutrašnjeg šelfa. Unutar foraminiferske zajednice dominiraju foraminifere sa perforatnom (staklastom) stijenkom, dok po obliku kućice dominiraju trohospiralne foraminifere.

Abstract (english)

At the Baška Beach locality, on the Krk island, five marl samples were collected and processed using the wet sieving method with the aim of analyzing the microfossil content. The samples were macroscopically described (color, hardness) and the microfossils were carefully examined in all sieve fractions. Microfossil community are dominated by foraminifera, and ostracoda carapaces, urchin spines, bryozoa and numerous mineral grains were also found. Sample BB 11/21 with the most diverse and well preserved microfossils is standardized to 280 foraminifera individuals. Small benthic foraminifera (87%) are the most numerous microfossils, and the plankton / benthos ratio, with 13% of planktonic foraminifera, indicates a shallow marine environment of the inner shelf. Within the foraminiferal community, foraminifera with a calcareous, hyaline perforate wall dominate, as well as foraminifera with trochospiral test form.
