Abstract

U okviru istraživačkog dijela rada pripravljena su dva nova koordinacijska polimera bakra(II) opće formule [Cu2(C2H3O4)2X2(H2O)2]n (X = Cl, Br). Spojevi su pripravljeni reakcijom glioksilne kiseline i odgovarajućeg bakrovog(II) halogenida, CuX2. Strukture oba spoja određene su na temelju podataka difrakcije rentgenskog zračenja na jediničnom kristalu, a dodatno su potvrđene metodom infracrvene spektroskopije. U svrhu definiranja optimalnih sintetskih uvjeta, ispitano je nekoliko načina sinteze, te je utvrđeno kako klasična otopinska sinteza uz vodu kao otapalo daje najbolje rezultate. Termička stabilnost spojeva kao i tijek njihovog razlaganja istraženi su simultanom tehnikom termogravimetrijske analize i razlikovne pretražne kalorimetrije, otkrivajući kako se ovisno o atmosferi plina u kojoj se mjerenje provodi znatno razlikuje način razlaganja pripravljenih spojeva.
U metodičkom dijelu rada načinjen je pregled i kritički osvrt na udžbeničku i stručnu literaturu na temu Patina na bakru. Opisana je nastavna jedinica za 90-minutni nastavni sat, temeljena na učenju otkrivanjem, za učenike četvrtog razreda gimnazije te su predloženi radni listić, uputa za nastavnike i učeničko samovrednovanje

Abstract (english)

As part of the research part of the thesis, two new copper(II) coordination polymers were prepared. Their general formula was [Cu2(C2H3O4)2X2(H2O)2]n (X = Cl, Br). The compounds were prepared by the reaction of glyoxylic acid and copper(II) halide, CuX2. The structures of both compounds were determined by Single-Crystal X-ray Diffraction. The structures were additionaly confirmed by infrared spectroscopy. In order to define optimal synthesis conditions, several methods of synthesis were tested and it was determined that the classical solution synthesis, with water as solvent, gave the best results. Thermal stability of compounds and the course of their decomposition were tested using thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. The results showed that the method of decomposition differs considerably if different gas atmosphere was used during measurments.
In methodological part of the thesis, an overview and critical review of textbook and scientific literature on the topic of copper patina was made. Lecture unit for a 90-minute lesson, based on discovery learning, for fourth-grade high school students was made. Also, a worksheet, instructions for teachers and self-evaluation for students were suggested.
