Abstract

Mlječike su jedna od fitokemijski značajnijih porodica biljaka. Karakterističan mliječni sok bijele boje sadrži fitotoksine koji odbijaju potencijalne patogene i herbivore. Mlječike osim svojih toksičnih svojstava, imaju bitan značaj u različitim područjima ljudskog djelovanja. Važne su za dobivanje sirovina u prehrambenoj industriji, medicini, kozmetici, građevini, a koriste se i kao ukrasne biljke zbog intezivne obojenosti pojedinih organa ili neobičnih sukulentnih oblika. U ovom radu iznesen je pregled toksičnih mlječika, malog broja vrsta koje rastu u Hrvatskoj te ostalih vrsta koje se koriste kao ukrasne ili imaju ekonomski značaj.

Abstract (english)

Euphorbias are one of the phytochemically most important family of plants. The characteristic milky, white sap contains phytotoxins that serve as repellents for potential pathogens and herbivores. Euphorbias, except having toxic properties have an important significance in different areas of human activity. They are important for obtaining raw materials to be used in food industry, cosmetics, medicine, construction and they are also used as decorative plants due to their intense coloration of certain organs or unusual succulent types. This work presents a review of toxic Euphorbia plants, small in number of species that grow in Croatia and other species that are used as decorative plants or have economic significance.
