Abstract

Istraživanje brzine probave važno je za razumijevanje odnosa prehrane i fiziologije probave. Ovisno o prehrambenim strategijama, životinje mogu imati različitu građu probavnog sustava i fiziologiju probave. Kod biljojeda se probava može podijeliti na krutu i tekuću frakciju. Markeri su referentni spojevi koji se koriste u istraživanju brzine probave za obilježavanje i mjerenje pojedine frakcije. Dijele se na fizikalne (partikulati) i kemijske (elementi i spojevi) markere, a kemijski se dalje dijele na unutarnje i vanjske. U kemijskim metodama koriste se kemijski markeri koji mogu obilježavati krutu ili tekuću frakciju. Za mjerenje brzine probave tekuće frakcije mogu se koristiti Co-EDTA i stanične stijenke obilježene kromom.

Abstract (english)

Digestion rate studies are important for understanding the relationship between nutrition and the physiology of digestion. Depending on dietary strategies, animals may have different gut morphology and different physiology of digestion. In herbivores digestion can be devided in particulate and liquid fraction. Markers are referent compounds which can be used in digestion rate studies to mark and measure either fraction. They can be divided in physical (particulates) and chemical (elements and compounds) markers and chemical markers can further be divided in inherent and external markers. Chemical methods use chemical markers to mark either particulate or liquid fraction. Co-EDTA and chromium mordanted cell walls can be used to measure digestion rate for liquid fraction.
