Abstract

Na sudarivačima RHIC i LHC se pri raspršenju teških iona postižu dovoljno visoke energije na kojima je moguće istraživati bogatu fenomenologiju kvantne kromodinamike. U ovom je radu razmotrena produkcija gluona korištenjem klasične Yang-Millsove teorije polja, te je rezultat uspoređen s računom u perturbativnom režimu kvantne kromodinamike. Povezano s time razmotrena je gluonska struktura protona korištenjem efektivne teorije staklastog kondenzata boje (Color-Glass Condensate), te numeričkim rješavanjem pridružene Balitsky-Kovchegov jednadžbe s korekcijom za kliznu konstantu vezanja.

Abstract (english)

Modern particle accelerators like RHIC and LHC are powerful enough to probe QCD phenomenology in heavy ion collisions. In this thesis we will address gluon production in these events using classical Yang-Mills field theory, and compare the results with those from other methods derived from perturbative QCD. The gluon structure of the proton is analysed using the Color-Glass Condensate effective theory, and through the numerical solution of the running-coupling Balitsky-Kovchegov equation.
