Abstract

Topološki polumetali trenutno su u fokusu istraživanja u fizici kondenzirane materije. Njihova niskoenergijska pobuđenja pokazuju zanimljive pojave poput ultravisoke mobilnosti nosioca naboja i kiralnih magnetskih efekata zbog čega su kandidati za brojne tehnološke primjene, i to u novoj generaciji elektroničkih uredaja, spintronici, kvantnim računalima, kemijskoj katalizi i slično. Osim toga, pružaju platformu za istraživanje Weylovih i Diracovih fermiona što je bitno za fiziku elementarnih čestica. U radu je prikazan teorijski opis topoloških izolatora i polumetala, postupak sinteze intrinzičnog Diracovog polumetala Cd_3As_2 te karakterizacija metodom mjerenja dHvA kvantnih oscilacija.

Abstract (english)

Topological semimetals are currently one of the most exciting research areas in condensed matter physics. Their low-energy excitations have interesting properties which show promise for future applications in technology, namely in new electronic devices, spintronics, quantum computers, chemical catalysis and more. Moreover, they offer a way to investigate Weyl and Dirac fermions, fundamental for our understanding of elementary particle physics. We discuss the theoretical background of topological insulators and semimetals, synthesis of Cd_3As_2 intrinsic Dirac semimetal and its characterizations using dHvA quantum oscillations method.
