Hidrazino-derivat glutaminske kiseline za derivatizaciju karbonilnih spojeva
-
Nastali...

Hidrološka i geomorfološka obilježja izvora prisojne strane Parka prirode Medvednica
-

Homogenization of the elastic plate equation
-
Jelena Jankov The main goal of this thesis is to study homogenization of the Kirchhoff-Love model for pure bending of a thin symmetric elastic plate, which is described by the fourth order elliptic equation. Homogenization theory is one of the most successful approaches for dealing with optimal design problems (in conductivity or linearized elasticity), which consists of arranging given materials such that obtained body satisfies some optimality criteria, typically expressed mathematically as the...

Hybrids of biomacromolecules and modern two-dimensional materials
-
Ida Delač Marion Compared to bulk material, interfaces exhibit additional rich physical phenomena. Functionalized surfaces represent interfaces which are of great importance not only in fundamental surface and materials science but also for applications, which is additionally emphasized by the fact that most of the microelectronic devices used today are based on planar designs. One implementation of functionalized surfaces are hybrid materials. These bridge the gap between living matter and technology and...

IDENTIFIKACIJA I BIOLOŠKA AKTIVNOST SLOBODNIH HLAPLJIVIH
SPOJEVA RODA Veronica L. (PLANTAGINACEAE)
-
eteričnih ulja i hidrosola plinskom kromatografijom-masenom spektrometrijom. Prevladavajući
spojevi bili su heksahidrofarnezil aceton i heksadekanska kiselina. Iste vrste testirane su na

IMMUNOGLOBULIN G GLYCOSYLATION IN COVID-19 DISEASE
-
Tea Pribić The ongoing pandemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
has become one of the major health problems in the world. SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to
a disease caused by coronavirus (COVID-19), with a spectrum of symptoms ranging from
asymptomatic to life-threatening pneumonia and death. A variation in the severity of disease
symptomsis one of the central questions in COVID-19 pandemics. Immunoglobulin G (IgG),
the most abundant glycoprotein in human blood plasma,...

IMPACT OF TRAINING FREQUENCY ON BIOLOGICAL AGE GLYCAN BIOMARKERS AND INJURY PREDISPOSITION
-
Nina Šimunić Briški Regular moderate exercise has multiple beneficial effects, yet very little is known about the impact of exercise on immunoglobulin G (IgG) glycosylation. In this thesis, the aim was to analyze the impact of various training frequencies on glycan biomarkers of biological age and to investigate currently related gene variants associated with soft-tissue injuries. The results demonstrated that glycan profiles of regularly moderately active population had the lowest GlycanAge index, 7.5 years...

INFLUENCE OF GENOMIC CHARACTERISTICS ON THE OPTIMIZATION OF MODELS FOR TUMOR CELL-OF-ORIGIN PREDICTION
-
Paula Štancl Identifying the cell-of-origin (COO) for tumors of unknown primary site is crucial for selecting effective therapies, but the heterogeneity and unique genomic profiles of these cancers make accurate prediction by machine learning models challenging. In this study, I analyzed how various genomic features influence COO prediction by using different machine learning models based on the mutational landscapes and epigenetic characteristics of normal tissues in distinct genomic features. The...

Identification and characterization of transposable elements in sponges (Porifera)
-
Maja Kuzman Transposable elements constitute a large portion of most eukaryotic genomes and play an important role in transcriptional regulation, shaping gene regulatory networks and genome evolution. Due to a lack of quality genome assemblies of non-model organisms, not much is known about the diversity, distribution and the role of transposable elements across Metazoa. In this thesis I present high quality genome assemblies for the sponge species Eunapius subterraneus and Suberites domuncula. I use...

Identification of the initial jet parton using machine learning techniques at the ALICE detector
-
Marko Jerčić Quarks and gluons produced in high-energy collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are manifested as collimated jets of particles via fragmentation and hadronisation processes. Distinguishing quark-initiated jets and gluon-initiated jets can be very useful for theoretical understanding of the fragmentation process, for better measurements of the Standard model parameters, as well as in the search for physics beyond the Standard model. Using machine learning techniques on data from the...
