Mlječike su jedna od fitokemijski značajnijih porodica biljaka. Karakterističan mliječni sok bijele boje sadrži fitotoksine koji odbijaju potencijalne patogene i herbivore. Mlječike osim svojih toksičnih svojstava, imaju bitan značaj u različitim područjima ljudskog djelovanja. Euphorbias are one of the phytochemically most important family of plants. The characteristic milky, white sap contains phytotoxins that serve as repellents for potential pathogens and herbivores. Euphorbias, except having toxic properties have an important significance in different areas of human activity.
