Abstract

Razvoj temeljen na turizmu kao okosnici gospodarstva uzrokovao je brojne socijalne, ekonomske i prostorne promjene u naseljima otoka Raba. Tradicionalno funkcionalno središte otoka, povijesni grad Rab, se uslijed navedenih promjena suočava s brojnim razvojnim poteškoćama koje su dovele do promjene uloge povijesne jezgre i depopulacije u naselju. Razvojni trendovi u naselju utvrđeni su statističkim analizama, analizom literature te kartiranjem i vizualizacijom rezultata kartiranja u GIS-u, dok su anketiranjem ispitani stavovi stanovništva o razvojnim problemima povijesnog grada Raba i njihovim mogućim rješenjima. Utvrđeno je kako razvoj povijesnog grada Raba treba biti utemeljen na participativnom načinu upravljanja, strateškom razvojnom planiranju i holističkom polifunkcionalnom pristupu. Uz to, predložene su aktivnosti i mjere čiji je cilj racionalnija valorizacija svih vrijednosti radi poboljšanja kvalitete života i uvjeta poslovanja u cilju dugoročno održivog razvoja povijesnog grada Raba.

Abstract (english)

Tourism-based development as the backbone of the economy has caused numerous social, economic and spatial changes in the settlements of the island of Rab. Traditional functional center of the island, the historical town of Rab, due to these changes, faces numeous of developmental difficulties that have led to change the role of the historical core and depopulation in the settlement. Development trends in the settlement were determined by statistical analyzes, literature analysis and mapping and visualization of mapping results in the GIS, while with a survey were tested attitudes of the population about developmental problems of the historic town of Rab and their possible solutions. It has been found that development of the historic city of Rab shoud be based on participatory management, strategic development planning and holistic multifunctional approach. In addition, there are proposes activities and measures, whose purpose is to rational valorisation of all values in order to improve the quality of life and terms of business in aim to the long-term sustainable development of the historic city of Rab.
