Abstract

Istraživanje prehrane provedeno je na 148 jedinki potočne mrene (Barbus balcanicus Kotlik, Tsigenopoulos, Rab i Berrebi, 2002), prikupljenih u slijevu rijeke Ilove na pet postaja, zatim u pet tekućica koje se nalaze unutar granica Parka prirode Papuk, na dvije tekućice koje pripadaju slijevu Krapine te u rijeci Petrinjčici. Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti prirodnu prehranu potočne mrene u Hrvatskoj radi boljeg razumijevanja ekologije ove vrste. Potočna mrena preferira hranu animalnog podrijetla, i to prvenstveno makroskopske beskralješnjake koji imaju najgušće populacije u makrozoobentosu istraživanih tekućica. Uspoređujući podatke dobivene analizom prehrane potočne mrene s uzorcima makrozoobentosa prikupljenih na istim lokalitetima na kojima su uzorkovane i ribe, vidimo kako ishrana potočne mrene ovisi o tipu staništa, te vrsti i količini dostupne hrane. U sastav prehrane potočne mrene ulazi 10 skupina makroskopskih beskralješnjaka (Turbellaria, Nematoda, Oligochaeta, Amphipoda, Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Odonata, Coleoptera, Trichoptera i Diptera). Prisutnost biljnog materijala utvrđena je u svega 15 probavila, a paraziti su pronađeni u 52 probavila. Od ukupno 148 analiziranih probavila, 17 ih je bilo praznih. Sva prazna probavila su zabilježena na postajama rijeke Ilove.

Abstract (english)

The natural diet of southern barbel (Barbus balcanicus Kotlik, Tsigenopoulos, Rab i Berrebi, 2002), was investigated on 148 individuals. The specimens were collected in the Ilova River (at five watercourses), at five watercourses within the Nature Park Papuk, at two watercourses within the Krapina River and in the Petrinjčica River. The aim of this research was to investigate the natural diet of southern barbel in Croatia in order to understand better the ecology of the species. In general, southern barbel belongs to the zoophagous group with some portion of plant component in the diet (plant material was present in only 15 digestive tract). Southern barbel in his diet prefers benthic macroinvertebrates. In the digestive tract ten groups of benthic macroinvertebrates were found: Turbellaria, Nematoda, Oligochaeta, Amphipoda, Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Odonata, Coleoptera, Trichoptera and Diptera. Based on the analyses of the macrozoobenthos collected in the investigated rivers, it is evident that natural diet of southern barbel depends on habitat type, species and quantity of available food. Parasites were found in 52 digestive tract. Seventeen stomachs were empty and all of them were found in the Ilova River.
