Abstract

Zainteresiranost učenika za prirodne znanosti i pohađanje prirodoznanstvenih fakulteta sve je manja. Učenici nastavu smatraju suhoparnom i dosadnom. Nisu upoznati sa stvarnom slikom suvremene znanosti što vodi ka odbacivanju znanosti kao nešto što im ne treba u životu.U ovom radu pokazano je kako terenska nastava u sklopu istraživački usmjerene nastave može pomoći probuditi interes kod učenika. Konkretno se istražuje kako pomoću veze Keplerovih zakona s Newtonovim općim zakonom gravitacije izračunati masu planeta u Sunčevom sustavu. Posebno je zanimljivo što se terenska nastava odvija u zvjezdarnici, koristi se teleskop visoke razlučivosti što je nešto što učenici rijetko susreću u obrazovanju.

Abstract (english)

Student interest in science and a higher science education is decreasing. The science class is considered boring and uninteresting. Students are left unaware of the realistic image of a modern science which leads to them rejecting science as something they do not need in life. This thesis explores how out-of-classroom teaching as a part of inquiry-based learning helps to provoke interest in science. Specifically, we explore how to use Kepler's Laws of motion combined with Newton's general theory of gravity to calculate the mass of a planet in the Solar system. What is especially interesting for students is that they will come in contact with an observatory equipped with a high-resolution telescope, something that they rarely encounter in their education.
