Abstract

Analizirani su otoliti na tri lokacije na jugozapadnom dijelu Medvednice: Dubravica, Veternica i Podsused. Opisano je devet novih rodova koji se po prvi put spominju na ovom području: Gobius, Neogobius, Diaphus, Valencienellus, Phycis, Maurolicus, Paratristopterus, Sardina i Bregmacero. Na lokalitetima Dubravica i Veternica pronađeni su ostaci izrazito plitkomorskih, ali i pučinskih riba. Dok su na lokalitetu Podsused nađeni ostaci dubokomorskih riba. U raspravi je dana rekonstrukcija paleookoliša i paleogeografije na temelju otolita.
Istraživanje otolita pokazalo se izvsrnom metodom kojom se može nadopuniti poznavanje ihtiofaune Paratethisa u miocenu i bilo bi dobro ovim fosilima posvetiti veću pozornost u budućim istraživanjima.

Abstract (english)

The Fish otoliths have been studied at three localities southwestern Medvednica Mt.: Dubravica, Veternica and Podsused. Nine new genera are described for the first time from this area: Gobius, Neogobius, Diaphus, Valencienellus, Phycis, Maurolicus, Paratristopterus, Sardina and Bregmacero. The otoliths from Dubravica and Veternica include fishes typical for a shallow water environment and deep-water fishes. Otoliths from Podsused represent fishes typical for an open marine environment. In discussion are given the informations on palaeoenvironments and palaeogeographical reconstruction based on those otoliths.
The obtained results indicate that otoliths are very important for reconstruction of Paratethys fish fauna and deserve more attention in the future.
