Abstract

Ovaj rad bavi se dokazima matematičkih tvrdnji korištenjem slika. Dokazi bez riječi su vizualne interpretacije jednostavnih i složenih matematičkih tvrdnji. Vizualni dokazi čitatelju koncizno prikazuju zašto određeni teorem vrijedi i kako doći do njegove istinitosti. No upravo zbog te konciznosti ponekad dolazi do pogrešnog shvaćanja dokaza ili nerazmatranja svih slučajeva. Stoga, važnu ulogu ima detaljna analiza koja se provodi kako bi se vizualni dokaz shvatio u cijelosti. Uz kvalitetnu analizu vizualni dokazi mogu biti zamjena za formalan dokaz.

Abstract (english)

This paper is all about presenting proofs of mathematical statements by using only pictures. Proofs without words are visual interpretations of simple and complex mathematical statements. Visual proofs are concise at presenting mathematical claims which is why they allow the reader to spot why a certain claim is valid and how to prove it. For being so concise it’s also common for a proof without words to be misunderstood. To avoid that it’s important to also have a detailed analysis next to the picture in order to help understand the real issue completely. Using a detailed analysis even proofs without words could be considered equal to formal proofs.
