Abstract

Permutacijski testovi predstavljaju jednostavniji i robusniji način testiranja hipoteza, budući da su provedivi uz manje pretpostavki nego parametarski testovi. U prvom poglavlju navedeni su osnovni pojmovi iz teorije vjerojatnosti i matematičke statistike koji su korišteni u radu. Na početku drugog poglavlja opisana je generička konstrukcija permutacijskih testova sa zadanim nivoom značajnosti koja koristi cijelu grupu permutacija i dokazana egzaktnost takvog permutacijskog testa. Zatim se ispituju uvjete uz koje je moguće reducirati broj korištenih permutacija, bez da se izgubi svojstvo egzaktnosti permutacijskog testa. Na kraju poglavlja smo proučavali razne načine izračuna permutacijskih \(p\)-vrijednosti. U trećem poglavlju smo iznijeli rezultate simulacije permutacijskih testova u R-u. Provjerili smo egzaktnost permutacijskih testova na primjerima testiranja jednakosti očekivanja kada uzorci dolaze iz raznih razdioba. Pomoću permutacijskog testa smo testirali je li se koeficijent korelacije između dvije slučajne varijable značajno razlikuje od nule. Usporedili smo pogreške prve vrste ili snagu permutacijskog testa s klasičnim \(t\)-testom.

Abstract (english)

Permutation tests give simpler and more robust way of testing hypothesis because they require fewer assumptions in comparison with most parametric tests. In the first chapter we introduced some basic notions from probability theory and mathematical statistics. At the beginning of the second chapter, we described generic construction of permutation tests which use the whole permutation group, with given significance level and we proved exactness of such tests. Then we examined conditions for reducing number of permutations used with intention of not loosing exactness property. Also permutation \(p\)-values and their calculating was studied at the end of this chapter. In the third chapter we present results of simulations of permutation tests performed in R. We checked the exactness of permutation tests on the example of testing equality of means when samples were generated from various distributions. We showed their application in testing if correlation coefficient between two random variables is significantly different from zero. In all examples, we compare type one error rate or power of permutation test with classical \(t\)-test.
