Abstract

Različiti problemi u prirodnim znanostima i tehnici rješavaju se primjenom linearne algebre. Zadatak ovog diplomskog rada je pokazati neke takve primjere, povezujući ih s osnovama teorije linearne algebre, pritom ne ulazeći u detaljnu teoriju, već stavljajući naglasak na matematički aparat potreban za njihovo rješavanje. U ovom radu naglasak je na primjerima iz prirodnih znanosti: kemije, fizike i geologije, a od tehničkih znanosti navode se primjeri iz građevinarstva. Dakle, dani primjeri nisu matematičko-teorijskog tipa kakvi se obrađuju u okviru nastave linearne algebre, već konkretni praktični problemi u kojima student matematike može upoznati primjenu.

Abstract (english)

Various problems in science and technology are solved by applying linear algebra. The purpose of this thesis is to present some of such examples, connecting them to the basics of linear algebra, without going into detailed theory but emphasizing the mathematical tools needed to solve them. In this thesis the emphasis is on examples from the science (chemistry, physics and geology) as well from construction. Thus, the given examples are not of the mathematical-theoretical type as dealt in linear algebra courses, but rather practical problems in which a student of mathematics may become familiar with the applications.
