Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu glavnu ulogu imao je poseban oblik nelinearnih diofantskih jednadžbi, odnosno Pellova jednadžba. Cilj rada bio je definirati Pellovu jednadžbu, navesti teoreme, nužne i dovoljne, za egzistenciju i strukturu njezina rješenja, vidjeti vezu izmedu rješenja Pellove jednadžbe i verižnih razlomaka te dati uvid u njezin povijesni razvoj.
Abstract (english)
In this thesis, the main role had special form of nonlinear diophantine equation, Pell’s equation. The aim of the study was to define Pell’s equation, state theorems, necessary and suffcient, for the existence and structure of its solution, see the connection between the solution of Pell’s equation and continued fractions and give an insight into its historical development.
