Raznolikost i rasprostranjenost nosorožaca (Dynastidae), balegaša (Geotrupidae) i zlatnih mara (Cetoniidae) u Hrvatskoj

Abstract

Entomološka istraživanja na području Hrvatske su započela u 18. stoljeću, no i dalje u 21. stoljeću nailazimo na problem premalog broja entomologa i istraživanja. Posljedica toga je nedostatan broj podataka koji bi se mogli koristiti u svrhu očuvanja i zaštite prirode. Kontinuirana istraživanja su potrebna kako bi izbjegli daljnji pad brojnosti kornjaša. Važnost proučavanih kornjaša proizlazi iz njihove uloge u ekosustavima u kojima se nalaze. Većina vrsta unutar porodice Dynastidae i Cetoniidae su fakultativno ili obligatno saproksilna te oni sudjeluju u razgradnji hranjivih tvari u mikrostaništima. Dok vrste unutar porodice Geotrupidae koprofagni su organizmi, koji sudjeluju u razlaganju izmeta drugih životinja, čime smanjuju ili sprječavaju razvitak prijenosnika bolesti i parazita drugih životinja poput sisavaca. Uz pomoć prikupljenih podataka sastavio se popis vrsta predmetnih porodica na području Hrvatske i izradilo se 35 karata rasprostranjenosti. Utvrđena je prisutnost 17 vrsta zlatnih mara, četiri vrste nosorožaca i 14 balegaša na području Republike Hrvatske. Također, u sklopu rada, usporedila se hrvatska fauna te tri porodice s faunom država iz regije. Sakupljeni podaci predstavljaju temelj za buduća istraživanja predmetnih porodica u Hrvatskoj te za aktivnosti vezane za upravljanje i očuvanje vrsta.

Abstract (english)

Entomological research in Croatia began in the 18th century, but we still encounter the problem regarding the small quantity of entomologists in the 21st century. Resulting in less available data that could be used for nature conservation and protection purposes. Such continuous research is needed to avoid further declines in beetle numbers. The importance of the studied beetles stems from their role in the ecosystems in which they are found. Most species within the family Dynastidae and Cetoniidae are optionally or obligatorily saproxylic and they participate in the degradation of nutrients in microhabitats. While species within the family Geotrupidae are coprophagous organisms, which participate in the decomposition of feces of other animals, thereby reducing or preventing the development of disease vectors and parasites of other animals such as mammals. With the collected data, a modern list of species of the subject families in Croatia was compiled and 35 distribution maps were made. The presence of 17 species of flower chafers, four species of rhinoceros beetles and 14 earth-boring dung beetles were determined in Croatia. Also, the Croatian fauna of the three beetle families were compared with the fauna of countries in the region. The collected data represent the basis for future research of the subject families in Croatia and for activities related to the management and conservation of species.
