Abstract

Putnički brodovi za krstarenja postaju sve popularniji oblik turističke usluge i sve češći odabir za odmor. Neminovno je da isti ti brodovi imaju veliki utjecaj na okoliš. U ovom diplomskom radu predstavljeni su načini postupanja s otpadom koji se generira na samom brodu. Točnije, naglasak je stavljen na postupke koji se odnose na kruti spaljivi otpad, medicinski otpad, te na postupke tretiranja otpadne vode. Kao smjernice uzeti su podaci s putničkog broda Adventure of the Seas, tvrtke Royal Caribbean International. Kako bi se spriječile posljedice i negativni utjecaj na okoliš, od primarnog značaja je postaviti jasne zakone i regulacije kao temelj za uspostavljanje jedinstvenog sustava gospodarenja otpadom. Ističući ekspanziju pomorskih krstarenja, a svjesni utjecaja na okoliš, veoma je važno uskladiti djelovanje industrije krstarenja s mjerama održivog razvoja.

Abstract (english)

Cruise ships become every day more and more popular shape of touristic service and a frequent choice for vacation. It is inevitable that these ships have a huge impact on the environment. In this Graduated Engineer Thesis ways of treating the waste generated on the ships are presented. More precisely, emphasis is brought to the solid burning waste, medical waste, as well as procedures of treating the waste water. As guidelines, data from the cruise ship Adventure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International Company, were used. In order to prevent consequences and negative impact on the environment, it is crucial to establish precise laws and regulations as a foundation for establishing of a unique system for treating the waste. Emphasizing the expansion of the maritime cruising, and aware of the impact on the environment, it is important to harmonize actions of the industry with the measures of sustainable development.
