Abstract

Močvarna staništa su jedni od najproduktivnijih ekosustava na Zemlji. Uz veliku raznolikost,
močvare su važan činbenik u obrani od poplava, a koristimo ih i kao izvor hrane. U Hrvatskoj,
najpoznatiji primjer močvarnog staništa je Kopački rit. Kopački rit najstariji je park prirode u
Republici Hrvatskoj te je uvršten na popis Ramsarske konvencije – međunarodnog sporazuma
o zaštiti i održanju močvarnih staništa. Nalazi se na sjeveroistočnom dijelu Republike Hrvatske
u najnižem dijelu Baranje. Reljefni oblici Baranje nastali su djelovanjem mlađih tektonskih
procesa i klimatskih promjena od kraja pleistocena sve do danas. U Kopačkom ritu prevladava
umjereno topla kontinentalna klima (Cfwa). Na području parka je popisano 400 svojti
vaskularne flore, od kojih je 88 vrsta zaštićeno. Istraživanja beskralješnjaka su započela 1943.
godine, a do danas su istraženi: oblići, mekušci, gujavice, pijavice, rakovi i kukci.
Beskralježnjaci su važan izvor hrane ribama i ostalim skupinama kralješnjaka. Kopački rit
nastanjuju zaštićene i strogo zaštićene vrste kralješnjaka, a područje je značajano stanište
vodozemaca i ptica. O tome govori činjenica da ornitofaunu Kopačkog rita čini 79,2% ukupnog
broja vrsta ptica u Hrvatskoj.

Abstract (english)

Wetlands are one of the most productive ecosystems on Earth. They are of great importance for
biodiversity and perform other important functions such as flood protection and food source. In
the Republic of Croatia, the Kopački rit Nature Park is one of the most important wetland
habitats. Kopački rit is also on the list of the Ramsar Convention - signed in the Ramsar, whose
mission is to protect and preserve wetlands. It is located in the northeastern part of the Republic
of Croatia in the lowest part of Baranja. The relief forms of Baranja have been created by recent
tectonic processes and climate changes since the end of the Pleistocene until today. Kopački rit
has a moderately warm continental climate (Cfwa). In the area of the park, 400 taxa of vascular
flora have been listed, of which 88 species are protected. Research on invertebrates began in
1943, and to date beetles, mollusks, earthworms, leeches, crabs, and insects have been studied.
Invertebrates are an important food source for fish and other vertebrate groups. Kopački rit is
inhabited by protected and strictly protected vertebrate species and is especially important as a
habitat for amphibians and birds. This is evidenced by the fact that the ornithofauna of Kopački
rit includes of 79.2% of Croatian bird species.
