Abstract | Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se pripravom, kristalizacijom te kristalnim i molekulskim strukturama adicijskih spojeva bis(3-benzilpentan-2,4-dionato)bakra(II), bis(pentan-2,4-dionato)bakra(II) i bis(1,3-difenilpropan-1,3-dionato)bakra(II) s premošćujućim ligandima heksametilentetraminom i 1,4-diazabiciklo[2,2,2]oktanom.

Abstract (english) | This thesis deals with preparation, crystallization and crystal and molecular structures of the adducts of bis(3-benzylpentane-2,4-dionato)copper(II), bis(pentane-2,4-dionato)copper(II) and bis(1,3-diphenylpropane-1,3-dionato)copper(II) with bridging ligands hexamethylenetetramine and 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane. Two stoichiometric ratios of starting building blocks and bridging ligands were used in synthesis, 1 : 1 and 1 : 2. The starting building blocks and addending molecules were dissolved separately in warm ethanol and benzene, respectively. Obtained solutions were mixed, filtered and left to slow evaporation at room temperature. Single crystals were obtained when bis(3-benzylpentane-2,4-dionato)copper(II) was combined with 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane and when bis(pentane-2,4-dionato)copper(II) was combined with hexamethylenetetramine. Both products were benzene solvates.

The methodical part of the diploma thesis deals with factors that affect the boiling points of compounds. An 90-minutes high school chemistry lesson that deals with influence of molecular mass, total number of electrons in molecules, van der Waals forces, hydrogen bonding and molecular shape on boiling points of compounds was designed. This lesson is based on guided-inquiry learning strategy and is commented in details. |
