Abstract

Naslage miocenske starosti vidljive su uz cestu Gornja Planina – Karivaroš. Karbonatne i klastične naslage predstavljaju slijed od aluvijalnih preko jezerskih do morskih uvjeta, zatim opet jezerskih uvjeta taloženja. Tijekom izrade rada načinjena je geološka karta trase i geološki profil, određeni su fosili te su doneseni zaključci o starosti i o okolišu taloženja. Marinski dio slijeda sastoji se od koralinacejskih bioklastičnih vapnenaca, sitnozrnatih vapnenaca s planktonskim foraminiferama i vapnenaca s fragmentiranim foraminiferama i ostrakodima. Bioklastični vapnenci bili su taloženi na unutarnjem šelfu, vjerojatno tijekom starijeg badena, sitnozrnati vapnenci na vanjskom šelfu ili padini tijekom mlađeg badena, dok su vapnenci s fragmentiranim mikrofosilima najvjerojatnije taloženi početkom sarmata u vrlo plitkom moru.

Abstract (english)

Miocene deposits are exposed along the Gornja Planina - Karivaroš road. Carbonate and clastic deposits represent a sequence from the alluvial through the lacustrine to the marine and back to the lacustrine conditions. During the preparation of this paper, a geological map of the route and a geological profile were made, fossils were determined and conclusions were reached about the age and the depositional environment. The marine part of the sequence consists of the coralinaceous bioclastic limestones, fine-grained limestones with planktonic foraminifera and limestones with fragmented foraminifers and ostracods. Bioclastic limestones were deposited on the inner shelf during the Early Badenian, fine-grained limestones on outer shelf/slope during the Late Badenian, while limestones with fragments of foraminifera were probably deposited during the Early Sarmatian in a very shallow sea.
