Abstract

U ovom doktorskom radu istražena je potrošnja vode u hotelima Grada Opatije obzirom na kategoriju hotela i obilježja ponude. Pri istraživanju su korištene korelacijske, regresijske, višestruko regresijske i klaster analize, te metoda regresijskih stabala odlučivanja. U radu su najprije analizirani svi prirodno-geografski i društveno-geografski čimbenici koji utječu na turizam i vodoopskrbu. Daljnjim analizama dobiveni su rezultati o ukupnoj potrošnji vode hotela u ukupnoj potrošnji vode istraživanog prostora, godišnjem hodu srednje potrošnje vode hotela s obzirom na kategoriju i dominantni tip ponude, te godišnji hod potrošnje vode u istim okvirima. Pritom su izdvojeni najznačajniji čimbenici potrošnje vode opatijskih hotela. Također, ispitan je godišnji hod i trend prosječne dnevne potrošnje vode po turistu s obzirom na značajke hotela. U radu su provedene i usporedbe dobivenih rezultata s rezultatima istraživanja sličnih problema u svijetu. Na kraju su dati i prijedlozi o uključivanju pojedinih čimbenika u buduća istraživanja, te o sustavnom praćenju potrošnje vode u hotelima.

Abstract (english)

In this doctoral thesis, the water consumption in the hotels of the City of Opatija was researched with regard to the hotel category and the features of the offer. Correlation, regression, multiple regression and cluster analysis, and regression tree decision making methods were used in the research. The paper first analyzed all the natural geographical and socio-geographical factors affecting tourism and water supply. Further analyzes obtained results of the total water consumption of the hotel in the total water consumption of the researched area, the yearly average water consumption of the hotel, depending on the category and the dominant type of hotel offer, and the annual water consumption in the same frame. The most significant factors of water consumption of the Opatija hotels are separated. Also, the annual trend and the trend of average daily water consumption per tourist due to hotel features were examined. The results of research on similar problems in the world have been compared. In the end, proposals are made on the inclusion of certain factors in future research, and on systematic monitoring of water consumption in hotels.
